PRSA Phoenix Diversity and Inclusion Definition

PRSA Phoenix understands that Communicators play an important role as influencers; therefore, Diversity and Inclusion is at the forefront of ALL of our professional development programming. We are committed to educating, informing and exposing our members to different points of view by partnering with diverse organizations within our community to help our members hear an authentic voice from the experts representing diverse target audiences.

We work with our rapidly changing community to ensure our practitioners can not only meet the needs of our varied audiences but amplify their stories.

  • Our goal is to proactively advance our profession and better serve our clients, and we do this by ensuring our members hear about the issues that are most prominent in our community from the local leaders themselves. This approach is deeply rooted in our philosophy of embracing authenticity. As practitioners, we are experts in what we know—and humble enough to recognize how much we still must learn. We also recognize that it is our essential duty to carry this philosophy forward to future generations of practitioners.

  • Second, we are committed to advancing PRSA National’s Strategic D&I Plan to position PRSA as a model for the communications profession, reflecting exemplary leadership in diversity and inclusion.

  • We’re committed to diverse representation on our Board and in our membership base, as well as in our professional development and event programming.

  • In addition to working at the professional level, we plan to increase our outreach to the student population, specifically deepening our engagement with Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) and underrepresented populations such as working mothers, as well as those in high schools and community colleges. To us, diversity and inclusion are vital to the success of our chapter, our profession and the communities in which we live and work.

Sincerely,

The PRSA Phoenix Board of Directors
