Jessica Abercrombie is a current member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Phoenix chapter. Abercrombie was a member of Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), during her time at ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. She transitioned from PRSSA to PRSA after graduation and has been a member ever since.
“PRSA provides an exceptional space in which fellow PR professionals are empowered to connect, collaborate, learn and grow from one another – it’s like co-working on a national scale, and I’ve found it to be a phenomenal tool in my own career,” Abercrombie said.
Abercrombie is an active member of the PRSA Phoenix chapter. This year, she had the opportunity to participate in the chapter’s mentorship program. She says that it “has been one of the most rewarding opportunities of [her] professional career.”
She has been a valuable member to the chapter and to her mentees.
“The ultimate career win for me has been giving back to the organization’s younger members, just as the members before me so generously mentored my younger self,” Abercrombie said.
Abercrombie spoke to PRSSA members this semester during one of their monthly meetings at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications. Throughout her career, Jessica Abercrombie has become an expert in the PR field.
“Relations rests at the heart of PR – those cultivated within our industry, with fellow professionals, members of the media, partners and clients – and while we may be expert storytellers, our measure of impact holds a direct correlation with the relationships we foster,” Abercrombie said.
