Independents’ Public Relations Alliance (IPRA)
At the June lunch meeting of IPRA (the independents’ SIG), we shared business and PR tips as we went around the table introducing ourselves and setting goals. Here are a couple of things we heard about:
• New Times offers an energetic, young, cost-effective team to help you with promotional and publicity extras like distributing fliers, wearing costumes, and much more.
• You should always have a head shot available of yourself for last-minute use by the media, for Web content, and other visibility.
• You can get leads for client stories every day by signing up at Peter Shankman’s “helpareporter.com.”
We also encourage anyone interested to sign up for our own IPRA group on LinkedIn (http://www.linkedin.com/e/gis/82818/2F2B3B1183A3).
You can get ideas like these every month by attending an IPRA networking lunch. Please RSVP if you plan to attend so our reservation is the right size. Cheers, and here are the details:
When: Monday, July 14, 2008, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. (We typically meet on the first Monday of each month, but due to the Fourth of July, will postpone to the second Monday.)
Where:
The Old Spaghetti Factory
1418 N. Central Ave
Phoenix, AZ 85004
(Just south of McDowell Road on Central Ave. Please plan extra time for parking downtown near the light rail construction.)
(602) 257-0380
